It happens to us sometimes, seeing the same shoes or bags over and over again being worn by a complete stranger can drive you to think that you have it and that you would gladly give it a rest at the back, back of your closet. Instagram’s influx of photos does not really help. Seeing the big international brands everywhere and on everyone can sometimes be a put-off, considering the 4-digit price figures you have to pay, and the counterfeit wave that usually follows a successful bag model. And so we are enlightened when we come across new brands that are offering unpretentious designs complemented by great quality.

Two years ago we spoke about Mansur Gavriel here and today we kind of have the same feeling towards our latest discovery: Manu Atelier. Beste and Merve Manistir, daughters of one of the most experienced hand craftsman and leather manufacturers in Istanbul, decided to launch their own brand in February 2014. The result? Decades of expertise poured into a classic design to create a modern bag that feels authentically different and that is already sold out in most retailers. We were lucky to purchase two of their classic designs, the Pristine bag, in black and silver in Boutique One. What do we love about it? The minimal distinctive logo, foldable and functional closing technique, compact look and spacious interior, outstanding colors, scratchproof material and in their own words that “Every single piece of MANU is an expression of Love”
