Jo Malone in Beirut

From their candles to their colognes, Jo Malone sure knows how to make one feel exceptional. Like all of its retail spaces worldwide, their new store at ABC mall- Verdun is designed for you to experience the brand. It’s known for its scents that last, luxury candles and bespoke fragrances. A couple of weeks back, I had the pleasure of being invited to the store where their team further explained the brand’s concept. The main focus was home fragrances and oh can they make any place feel like home! We all know that scent is the most powerful memory trigger so if you want to reminisce in a distinctive manner just indulge in their personalized fragrance testing. Superga Everyday

We cannot be who we are on social media, not completely. No matter how much someone keeps on insisting that they are their true self, deep down we all know that there is always something orchestrated. The light, the angle, the words, something subconsciously has been planned, and more often than not, a caption tries to erase all doubt by insisting that it was “spur of the moment”, and it succeeds at only confirming the contrary. And little by little, the world becomes comfortable with the distorted perspective on reality. Continue reading “Superga Everyday”

YOU ME BEIRUT

This is not yet another inspirational post about Beirut, there are a handful of those out there and we honestly think that loving the city you live in should not awaken pride or grant merit, it should simply be a duty.

loving the city you live in should not awaken pride or grant merit, it should simply be a duty.

Despite the everythings and nothings, it is home and parading its name around will always feel trendy. Pair anything with a midi black skirt and you will almost feel responsible for finding striking colored heels and that clutch that matches. Are you with me? Continue reading “YOU ME BEIRUT”

A house is an extension of who you are. Whether you are renting out an apartment, live at your parent’s place or own your own flat, where you are now spending most of your nights is home. And just like you make an effort to match your shoes with your outfit, accommodating your personal space to your own taste can go a long way. From waking up to an inspirational wall that literally encourages you to be different to drinking your morning juice on your comfort mug, home details add up and become a part of who you are. No Resolutions

Tomorrow is the last day of this year. We’ve had our share of beautiful moments and some others that did not make it to our page of love, where we only talk about what heightens our spirits. For everything, we are thankful. We will not make resolutions. We have discovered that the best things we have accomplished, we didn’t even know we were accomplishing. We won’t set goals and judge our selves upon completion. The world is already busy doing that on our behalf. We will only hope that like this outfit, we get to experience a year of harmony between the good and the not so good that is prone to happen. The dark instants and the pink moments, we will embrace it all and make it look like it perfectly works. Happy New Year!

Last Night in Beirut: O Monot Luxury Hotel Rooftop

Let’s face it. We can’t really look at our “Summer in Beirut” albums and not see pictures of the city’s most renowned rooftops. It has become a summer staple and we are constantly looking for the town’s new heights and sights or enjoying the iconic ones. Yesterday, we were invited to O Monot Hotel Rooftop . Right in the heart of Beirut, this new luxury boutique hotel prides itself on being the first hotel in Lebanon to be part of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) network. We were happy to be invited to enjoy a calm and relaxing night at the roof. Cheese and wine, chill music and lots of talks about upcoming projects for the blog…Can’t really ask for more!

Personalized Scent

We  are living in an era where personalization marketing efforts are found everywhere, from initials engraved on your bag, to golden chains screaming out your name. Yet something as personal as a scent is kept rather generic. And that is why we directly fell in love with IDEO Parfumeurs. While walking in Gemmayzeh street, we came across this beautiful fragrance boutique that gives you the opportunity to discover and create your ideal scent. You can tailor fragrances by taking a quick questionnaire and smelling different aromas. The packaging is just beautiful and scented candles and handmade soaps are also available and can help you personalize your home. Smell is the closest sense linked to memory and now you can make them literally unique!

The Agenda Beirut

Last month we attended two interesting workshops at The Agenda Beirut. When Tony Abou Ghazaly, founder of this boutique academy, first introduced us to the concept, we were thrilled with the idea!  It took us some time to choose among the variety of topics presented by experts in the field (Interior decoration, fashion, styling, luxury events planning, professional self-make up and many more). After giving it some thought, we enrolled in the Advance Image Consultancy workshop with the amazing Christiane Hajjar and The Luxury Fashion Events Planning with the sweetest Bouchra Boustany. It was a great month of interchanging ideas, sharing experiences, expanding our knowledge and most importantly meeting passionate people that share the same love. Thank you The Agenda Beirut!

Habatiq E-Journey

There are things that are born out of a journey and then there are things that take you on one. Habatiq is one of those rare spaces where you can find both. It’s our latest favorite story, a story made up of beautiful stories that originate from the best markets and bazaars in different countries and end up at your doorstep, ready for their next journey. Between the old and the new, Habatiq online boutique manages to take you on an interesting oriental trip. What better ways to discover new cultures than by owning the crafts its people create? During Beirut Design Week, we were able to discover well-traveled jewels from four different places: Beirut, Cairo, Istanbul and India. We were fascinated by the travel stories that its founder, Samar Dani, so passionately shares. She personally browses distant souks and scavenges bazaars to make available an interesting selection of goods that you can get online. The mystifying combination of buying with a click beautiful things you would have never seen on a screen..
