PARIS, THE CITY

“It’s not the place but the company” might apply to many cities but not Paris. No matter what time of year, reason of visit or duration of your trip, you will always feel accompanied even when walking alone. It is about the place, not the people. It is about its raw beauty, not the coveted fashion weeks. It might be the awe-inspiring monuments, imposing all their beauty while still inviting nature at every corner of every boulevard. Circling Back

Remember your mom’s faded Levi’s or old Cimarron? Remember when wearing moccasins, in all their grandeur, was not a fashion statement but a norm because ballerinas were only being worn by ballerinas? Not to forget the embroidery on jackets and jeans because plain was not always a thing. We love revisiting decades and remembering that at some point fashion was completely innovative. Continue reading “Circling Back”

YOU ME BEIRUT

This is not yet another inspirational post about Beirut, there are a handful of those out there and we honestly think that loving the city you live in should not awaken pride or grant merit, it should simply be a duty.

loving the city you live in should not awaken pride or grant merit, it should simply be a duty.

Despite the everythings and nothings, it is home and parading its name around will always feel trendy. Pair anything with a midi black skirt and you will almost feel responsible for finding striking colored heels and that clutch that matches. Are you with me? Continue reading “YOU ME BEIRUT”

Pretty Little Surprise

When it comes to beauty products, we are constantly looking for the newest of the new, the best of the good, the hippest of the trend, or simply just what works for us, sometimes just to know more about it and more than often to try it and see if our search yielded our new favorite thing. So it feels really good when someone helps you do the homework. Last week we met up with the team behind a new concept in Lebanon, Pretty Little Box, and we instantly felt that the needed backup had just arrived. Continue reading “Pretty Little Surprise”

Milestone Weekend

When someone tells you they’ve experienced one of their most memorable weekends, you imagine them soaking up the sunshine in some exotic getaway. And most of the time, with some mild variations, that would be the case.

Last weekend I unknowingly walked into what turned out to be one of the most memorable weekends I’ve ever had. Aside from the rays sneaking into a room filled with seven other people I have never met, there was no sunshine involved. But impressively it did to my mind what traveling to somewhere new always does. It is perhaps because to some extent I completely disconnected (I did not take a single picture!) and traveled into a world where it is possible to build your own brand. Bohemians, Perhaps

They say people have the tendency to beautify things they have never actually seen. We have the tendency to fall digitally in love with a bag only to be disenchanted the minute we are done unwrapping the delivery box. We have the tendency to love social media personas we have never met, only to shake their hands and start wondering. We haphazardly use terms like bohemian and gypsy without realizing they had a different meaning long before they started appearing on glossy magazine covers. Continue reading “Bohemians, Perhaps”

Revisiting

It had been a long while since I last spent more than two days in my precious Ehden. City life gets smoothly on the way and you just completely forget what it was like to spend a Wednesday morning climbing the natural reserve.

It had been a longer time since I was not able to do a legitimate ponytail and once you chop off the excess you realize why your mom insisted on letting it all go before school days returned. And wearing dungarees, well that has also been a while. Continue reading “Revisiting”
