Boots for Days

Winter feels fresh when wearing striking colors, even more so when it’s a footwear staple that carries the necessary pinch of needed hue. When shopping for these I was torn between two colors: deep blue and fiery burgundy, but then I opted for the boots that I thought I could match with more outfits. Continue reading “Boots for Days”

Is it in Lebanon?

Is it in Lebanon? That’s the question you get asked every time you share a picture of a green space or stunning scenery. Our skeptical selves are not to blame since day after day we are experiencing how our beautiful country ages, and unfortunately, not very gracefully. We are constantly witnessing how developers are threatening Beirut and other cities’ architectural heritage by replacing corners that hold so much history with modern skyscrapers. Unfortunately, we don’t feel there is much we can do but pay close attention to our surroundings and enjoy what now seems like an ephemeral place. Continue reading “Is it in Lebanon?”

All Day Maxi

We usually tend to think of long dresses as a night-outfit option but there is nothing more attractive than an unexpected maxi dress during the day, even more so if it is filled with a striking print. Long gone are the days when what dictated your outfit was the place or time of outing, now it’s all in your mind. If you feel like it, just wear it! Continue reading “All Day Maxi”

The Basket Bag

What once was humble has become an “it” item. Following the path of torn out jeans and worn out tees (pieces destined for the bin before they were classified as cool), the basket bag has now stepped in. Before waking up to finding every straw bag sold out, it was a bag that we used to use for the beach and if you were traveling to places like Bali, it would be their equivalent of a plastic bag. We are honestly delighted by the transformation. Continue reading “The Basket Bag”

Instagram Jeans

Some trends are so pretty you feel they were made for Instagram. Pearl-embellished jeans seem to be one of them. It’s been a while since we put our skinny jeans to rest and have dutifully embraced wide leg pants, flares, and high-waist jeans but adding something so small and delicate as pearls definitely doubles the outfit glam. These Zara pants are probably one of their bestseller items this season, and it’s easy to see why. The pearls seem to barely be touching the denim, giving off a fairy vibe. Global Realization

There was a time when ruffles were typically reserved for special occasions. Their imposing nature directly elevated any outfit a few notches up and a special event had to happen in order for them to exit the closet. Thankfully, we’ve come to the realization that a special day does not determine the worthiness of an outfit, but an outfit is what makes the day exceptional. Continue reading “Global Realization”

Circling Back

Remember your mom’s faded Levi’s or old Cimarron? Remember when wearing moccasins, in all their grandeur, was not a fashion statement but a norm because ballerinas were only being worn by ballerinas? Not to forget the embroidery on jackets and jeans because plain was not always a thing. We love revisiting decades and remembering that at some point fashion was completely innovative. Continue reading “Circling Back”

YOU ME BEIRUT

This is not yet another inspirational post about Beirut, there are a handful of those out there and we honestly think that loving the city you live in should not awaken pride or grant merit, it should simply be a duty.

loving the city you live in should not awaken pride or grant merit, it should simply be a duty.

Despite the everythings and nothings, it is home and parading its name around will always feel trendy. Pair anything with a midi black skirt and you will almost feel responsible for finding striking colored heels and that clutch that matches. Are you with me? Continue reading “YOU ME BEIRUT”

Bohemians, Perhaps

They say people have the tendency to beautify things they have never actually seen. We have the tendency to fall digitally in love with a bag only to be disenchanted the minute we are done unwrapping the delivery box. We have the tendency to love social media personas we have never met, only to shake their hands and start wondering. We haphazardly use terms like bohemian and gypsy without realizing they had a different meaning long before they started appearing on glossy magazine covers. Continue reading “Bohemians, Perhaps”
