The Thread Top

A while ago we were introduced to Milia M and we couldn’t help but love their iconic thread top. The approach to wearing it is simple and just like Milia herself puts it: Just wear one item that feels like home and make sure your total look is tuned with the activity of the moment. We love the flow of the maxi skirt and the elegance of the top, both beautifully combined to create a dreamy yet confident look.

Look Back

Tops with interesting backs and simple fronts have always been a favorite. There’s a subtle attractiveness in the back of our body that if shown strategically can be very striking. Look out for summer tops that make your exit more memorable than your entrance and you might actually find out that sometimes it’s good to look back!

The Agenda Beirut

Last month we attended two interesting workshops at The Agenda Beirut. When Tony Abou Ghazaly, founder of this boutique academy, first introduced us to the concept, we were thrilled with the idea!  It took us some time to choose among the variety of topics presented by experts in the field (Interior decoration, fashion, styling, luxury events planning, professional self-make up and many more). After giving it some thought, we enrolled in the Advance Image Consultancy workshop with the amazing Christiane Hajjar and The Luxury Fashion Events Planning with the sweetest Bouchra Boustany. It was a great month of interchanging ideas, sharing experiences, expanding our knowledge and most importantly meeting passionate people that share the same love. Thank you The Agenda Beirut!

Fashion Flashback

They say that one shouldn’t get distracted by the hype of fashion and the hundreds of looks offered every season. You should chose whatever you like the most and make it work! Well, it’s definitely easier said than done and there is always that space in the closet reserved for items with intact tags- those things you happen to buy on the spur of the moment after having read vogue or gone for a stress-relief shopping spree. But we honestly think that dungarees are not one of those items you only wear once. Their versatility is wide and with the bare midriff trend at its peak, we can now easily style this childhood staple. Fashion flashback at its best!

Last Saturday in Beirut: Launch of Twelve Watch in Lebanon

Here’s the thing about football:  For those involved, no explanation is necessary. For those not involved, no explanation is possible. But let’s give it a try. Last saturday was Champion’s League Final, some sort of Paris-London-Milan-New York Fashion week all combined into one night.  Even though our FC Barcelona was not qualified, there’s always a pleasure in watching a good game. It’s just like window shopping, you know you are not taking anything home but can’t help but stare. Last Saturday, we had the pleasure to discover Twelv2, a series of 32 Swiss made watches, each representing a participating country in the Football World Cup. They come in two sizes and changeable straps. The name clearly says it: “Twelfth man” in a football game—the fans! You get the best of both worlds: A trendy time piece cheering to your favorite team. Chili’s bottomless tortilla chips and frozen margaritas set the perfect tone to literally look at the time while waiting for the game to begin.

Ours is a blurry line between football and fashion. That shiver down your spine when sale has just began, that pump of blood when your team scores, the outrage you feel when you didn’t find those shoes your size, the indignation that strikes you when your team has been disqualified…These emotions date back to our Venezuela days- playing en el patio, interested in chasing a ball, scoring a goal and celebrate it while wearing mom’s heels and playing dress up. It never gets old; there is only room for more.

You can find Twelv2 Watches in Virgin Megastore and selected Jewelry shops. For more info check their Facebook page  or Official website

It’s getting HAT

Some people get away with wearing hats even if it’s at night. We’d rather keep it safe and stick to sunny days! And we have plenty coming ahead so a casual tee, fitted jeans and the deal is set!

Selfie Epidemic

There was a time, not so long ago, where you couldn’t see a picture immediately after it was taken. You took it with your Kodak or disposable camera and had to assume and hope that it was a good shot and just move on. Yet somewhere down the line, for better or worse, we became obsessed with capturing the moment even when the moment only involved us. The selfie happened. Not so sure about our feelings towards this trend but certainly satisfied with wearing it!

Bagdreaming

They say there is no harm in daydreaming, and then bagdreaming shouldn’t be a problem either. Our latest fantasy: Mansur Gavriel. Its clean lines, bright interiors and chic silhouette make it an absolute must have. Established in 2012 by Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavriel, Mansur Gavriel’s warm natural leather bags have become a sensation that is almost sold out everywhere. Getting your hands on a  Mansur Gavriel isn’t easy but that’s the beauty of a dream, once you do, it feels magnificent! We were lucky to find our tote bag on Netaporter.com before it sold out. But here’s some really exciting news: The label is launching e-commerce on its site early this summer! Eventually, dreams will come true!

Denim Outlives

Ripped jeans have outlived many seasons. There is something so laid back about them that even the fashion industry can’t be bothered to give us an updated alternative. And so we play around with new comers like colorful slip-ons and pastel colored jackets. The word effortless comes to mind.

Last Night in Beirut: Dina JSR Boutique Opening

It is always gratifying to see outstanding talents. It is even more gratifying to see that these talents are Lebanese. Our latest designer crush: Dina JSR. Last night we got the chance to discover her fifth collection, Crystal Waters, in her new boutique in Saifi Village, Beirut. It has a showroom, a workroom and magic, lots of magic. Designed in Beirut, handcrafted in France, Dina JSR collections thrive in delicacy and elegance. While we enjoyed light snacks, good music and sweet ice-cream, we were stunned by Dina’s contagious passion towards her creations. Her inspiration for this latest collection was her very own wedding six months ago. She envisioned what she would have loved for people to be wearing on that special day and transformed it into a flowing collection of light blues, diluted pinks and purples, and warm limes. Her collections are already available in prestigious stores around the globe, but we can’t but feel proud that no matter where our talented people go,they always manage to come back home.
